About CKindness
At the heart of CKindness is the belief that self-love is fundamental to personal growth and societal well-being. They emphasize the concept of "FLY"—First Love Yourself—as a foundation for individuals to recognize their unique value and potential. By promoting self-kindness, CKindness aims to cultivate a culture where individuals are empowered to extend kindness to others, creating a ripple effect of positivity.
I dislocated my knee so severely I would never walk again without reconstructive surgery. While recovering for 6 months of no driving and living in the world of I Can’t, I sat for hour after hour asking what I can do to make the world a better place. I wanted to ensure others would understand what it is to be YOUnique, not different or special because special implies better than and in theory NO one is better than anyone else. Which growing up in Lilly white suburbia that is/was the mindset of most in my town. Over time, it is not a sustainable nor realistic mindset.
With my own suicide attempts it was imperative to me, I shift the vibe in the world so others would understand the importance of what it is to first love yourself, in a way that allows one to embrace one’s sense of value.
Then while in Mexicali facilitating for the World Academy for the Future of Women, I started writing children’s books to move the idea of what it is to be YOUnique forward. Through the children’s book series, being translated in 10 different languages and speaking on a world stage, this is how the global initiative will move forward.
I designed the name after my two sons

Meet our Founder & President
Shirene Hayes
Born and raised in Portland, Oregon. Shirene faced relentless bullying throughout her childhood. In 2016, a debilitating accident forced her to pause and reflect on her life's purpose. During this time, she felt a deep calling to create CKindness-a movement dedicated to making a real difference, especially for young children, middle schoolers, and high school students navigating life's toughest challenges.
Having experienced the devastating impact of suicide throughout her life, Shirene came to understand the profound importance of self-love. This realization became the heart of CKindness's mission: To empower individuals to embrace kindness, starting with themselves
